ARGUS is the premiere safety ratings company. Most operators proudly display their ARGUS rating on their website and trip sheets, the highest being platinum. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association is the go-to resource for pilots. From providing incredible educational programs to legal support, the AOPA is doing wonders for general aviation.

FlightAware is a brilliant tool that takes live aircraft tracking data and presents it in an easy to digest format. You plug in the tail number of the aircraft you'd like to track, and they'll show you the live position overlaid on a map. Not all operators allow their aircraft to be tracked, and coverage is sparse outside of the US, but it's a phenomenal tool. Here's an example flight:
